Thee Oh Sees - “Opposition”
Today is my last day of work before a week’s long vacation. I am being contrary just for the sake of being contrary.
Thee Oh Sees - “Carrion Crawler”
Seriously anticipating this record…
We have been waiting for a some gnarly sax interjections thrown into a down tempo Oh Sees track, one that opens like it could be some hard bop intro that’s about to get proto-funky, but grinds the ol’ rock axe out to its logical end: buzz saw solos and druggy guitar delay thwacking and absolutely no sign of that intro saxophone.*
Lo, that very track has arrived: Thee Oh Sees, “Carrion Crawler”
“Carrion Crawler” is the first leak off of Thee Oh See’s Carrion Crawler/The Dream, out November 15 on In The Red. *(One can only hope it was still reeling from a solo off the previous track.)

Thee Oh Sees - “I Won’t Hurt You” (West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band cover)
This is spectacular. Oh sure, it’s missing the adenoidal inhale like the original, but damn, give it up to Thee Oh Sees for covering one fantastic song in an utterly rad way. This band can do no wrong.
PS - you can find the original on my Leftovers mixtape!

I should not be stuck at work on the only nice day of the weekend. I should be daydrinking around Milwaukee.
Alas, I’m stuck in my cubicle, damning The Man with a Thee Oh Sees dance party in my office chair.

#154 - Thee Oh Sees - Schwag Rifles
While there’s hardly any shortage of lo-fi punk bands at the moment, idk if there’s anyone that do it better than Thee Oh Sees. So great. This track is taken off an awesome compilation of similarly punky and similarly punky bands, released last year on Almost Ready Records. This stands as the highlight from a compilation that features Blank Dogs, Sic Alps, Tyvek and The Intelligence, enough said.
Thee Oh Sees kick so much ass.

I so love Thee Oh Sees.
Thee Oh Sees - Can You See?
Fits in good with a Friday. I need to get this record, well all their records.

Thee Oh Sees - “It Killed Mom”
How about a little lo-fi psych pop for a Thursday? I was listening to my latest mixtape on the way to work this morning and had to hit repeat when this track came on. Fuzzy guitars and megaphone vocals work for me. So does that zen-like repetitive bass line and ringing crash cymbals.
