Kid Millions - “Victim to the Beat”

It’s how we do hip hop in Milwaukee.  According the level of chair dancing happening in my cube, I’m totally a victim to the beat.

Mmmmm… Wangers & Mash

Today’s special at local bar & restaurant Palomino.

Big weekend in Milwaukee!

Saturday is the 5th Annual Tomato Romp.  While I won’t be participating in the throwing, I will be checking out the bloody mary contest.  $15 gets you a ballot, 5oz bloody mary sample and 3oz beer chaser at 13 different locations along Brady street.  I’ve done this tour a few times now and it is a blast.

After catching a nice little buzz, I’ll head back to my ‘hood of Bay View for the Bay View bash.  It’s a neighborhood street fest with food, live music, beer and sangria, and crafts.

Sunday, after a hearty brunch to help ease my hangover, I’ll head over to Humboldt park for the Global Union Festival.  I’ll bring my crafting so I can just sit and knit or cross stitch between bouts of dancing and waiting in the crepe food cart line.  Mmmmm… crepes…

I freakin’ love fall in Milwaukee.

Buffalo Gospel - “The Hill Outside My Home” (CouchByCouchWest Session)

Amazing Americana straight from Milwaukee.  Beautiful song.  Great voice.  I’m going to have to look for a local show.

Hit up bandcamp to hear more.

Hall & Oates - “Rich Girl”

Today is opening day of Summerfest here in Milwaukee.  Billed as the “World’s Largest Music Festival”, it is far from the best.  11 days, 11 stages over 700 bands.  This year’s lineup is far better than it has been in years past.  One main stage that you have to purchase tickets for, the other stages are free with cost of entry.  Highlights this year are  The Black Keys, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Andrew Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Toots & The Maytals… but tonight, tonight I’m going to see Hall & Oates.  Fuck yeah.

The Budos Band - “Unbroken, Unshaven” Live @ Pabst Pub

Oh this?  This is The Budos Band kicking ass this afternoon at their little teaser show at the pub in the Pabst Theater.  Yeah, I’ll be dancing to their soulful funk tonight.  Minds will be blown.

Dunno ‘bout you but this girl could use The Prix Fix.

I may have to visit The Nomad and satisfy this craving as soon as I make my out of work today.

414 means Milwaukee, and Milwaukee means party.

Happy Milwaukee day, everyone.
