Sometimes a man with a mustache gives enough sugar, one forgets about the tea. This piece isn’t particularly subtle; neither are some mustaches.
Part of my Fanciful Follicle series, each ‘stache is stitched in on neutral cloth in shade of brown unique to it’s shape - coffee, dark chocolate and mahogany. The text is worked in backstitch in dark navy. The piece is in a 4”x6” black frame measuring a total of 6”x8”.

Power Animal: Pitchfork Cobra by flamgirlant
Check it - my latest cross stitched Power Animal is finished!! Thought it was time to try out a reptile. This intense little fella is my Pitchfork Cobra. Stitched on 14 count fabric in a dark avocado green and pale yellow floss, he’s secured in an 8” embroidery hoop I stained dark walnut.
My Power Animals combine traditional patterns and silhouettes with pops of color and texture. A twist on the traditional.

Rock On Gold Dust Woman Cross Stitch by flamgirlant
Check out the latest and greatest addition to my Swagger cross stitch series! I love the sultry, witchy spin Stevie Nicks puts to daily affirmations. This rockin’ piece is stitched in 9 different colors of floss on 28 count linen. I used a satin gold-colored floss for the lyrics. It’s hard to tell from my pics but that satin floss lends a subtle sheen to the words. The lyrics are framed in vines and flowers reminiscent on poppies and the whole piece is in 5x7 frame in a burnished copper color.
And hey, it’s for sale in my etsy! Or if you’re feeling the itch to stitch, you can pick up the pattern and create one yourself.
Just goes to show inspiration can even come from a classic Fleetwood Mac album.
