The See See - “Powers Of Ten”
This is a perfect sipping coffee on a fall morning song. Starts off like a lost gem from the 70’s. Folky acoustic guitar, warm bass working up and down the neck, a touch of banjo to add some texture. Then this distorted electric guitar swims up to the surface and unobtrusively works its way around before diving back down.
It’s such a well-crafted song. Everything perfectly measured. Gives a lovely sepia toned feel to my morning. Makes me want to wear a plaid shirt and cowboy boots. Not in an ironic, hipster sort of way, the song is just too sincere for that. In an “Almost Famous” sort of way.
